So I finally assembled the Delta 40-690 that my wife bought for me three weeks ago. I have to say that this is a HUGE step up from the Porter Cable that I bought at Lowes. I cannot wait until this weekend.
I, too, bought a Delta 40-690 as a BIG STEP UP from a Rikon: no comparison.
I am on my 5th Gary Mackay box...but now I have to get caught up with my sanding & finishing!
I would have never come even close to the productivity that the Delta has brought to my shop with the "other" scrollsaw.
Sometimes you just have to try the higher priced saws to understand they do make cutting much more fun. I tired them all until I ended with the Hegners. Glad you both like the saw you purchased.
Thanks, Kim. I'll show that to my husband but since he has 2 surgeries coming up I doubt that will be on his to do list. The place we buy wood from air dries the wood for a year, than finishes with kiln drying....
