Bought a used, cheap $35 saw several years ago, and have enjoyed puzzles and such. Looking now to upgrade. Still looking at used, but came across what I believe is a pretty good deal on a new Delta 40-690 at my local Woodcraft store. Saw w/light and base for $350. More than I wanted to spend, but it has everything I wanted. Is it too good to pass up?

That is a very good introductory price and I know it has been well received by several members here. If you can afford it I'd go for it. One word of caution. Take a good straight edge and be certain the face of the table is flat prior to taking your new saw home. There have been some quality control issues with this matter on the new saw. So open the saw at the store and check it out. Let us know how you like your new saw and share some pics of your puzzles with the family."Still Montana Mike"

I took advantage of the sale a couple of weeks ago and I love it. The only thing I don't like is that there is no dust collector port on it but I rigged one up and it works OK.

Reply to What do you think?by vgrafI have a VacuFlo system for my house. It might have enough suction for a small table saw but not for the large cabinet makers saw like you have.
Like the others have said, your Walvac might work fine for smaller tools, especially for a hand sander.
The VacuFlo actually uses...-
