What do you mean it is still in the box. Why are you here telling us about it instead of unpacking it?

Me, too, Diane. Mine is still in the box. I wanted to get that good sale in December so I went ahead and bought it altho I still have alot of organizing in my shop to do.
I need shelves put up and some work tables. So I didn't see any need to take the saw out of the box and risk knocking it around while I was doing other stuff.
There it is Scientific proof that women have much more patience than most men. Two brand new saws still in the box that is just wrong.
I had my Hawk apart for just one day ( I replaced a bearing) and I couldn't stand it.
I must say it is much better to set things up right Before unpacking the tools. I have done it the other way and now it is much more difficult.

In the box because I was in the city until midnight last night. Was not going to unpack it just to look at it for an hour. It is now home and will get taken out of the box today. I might use it only as of next week because I am leaving again for the city tomorrow.

Congratulations on the new EX, Diane! Wow, I remember when you were first getting into scrolling and were looking to buy your DeWalt. Seems like just yesterday.
I'll be anxious to hear your impressions of the EX. Once you have had a chance to get it out of the box and use it, of course. But you take your time. No need to hurry on our account.

All the things I do well, I learned on this forum. The bad stuff, well that was trying to take a short cut.
Ask your questions, someone here will answer....
In 1954 I had one similar to that which had a spring return in the top arm for blade tension. It was set up on a bench for me by my father and had a treadle system to run it ..... I have no memory of the brand of machine.
