  • Delta 18" Scroll Saw #40-601

Does anyone have or used this type of scroll saw? Delta 18" Scroll Saw #40-601. There is one on Craigs list in Michigan for $125.00 negotiable. I have a brother in Michigan who has always said if I find something I am interested in he would go and check it out and/or get it for me. The only thing he said is that there are parts of Detroit he won't go to no matter what.

Right now anything would be better than what I'm using. I don't thing my Ryobi will take anymore cobbling together. Right now the arm for the dust blower is held up by a plastic tie jammed into the arm because the threads are stripped out. I used 3 different knobs last week end and after a few uses the knobs would not tighten anymore. Very frustrating. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Did you read the reviews Bob made in his comparison article on scroll saws?

Forgot about that. I'll have to look at that again when I get home.

      Thanks Mike.

Thanks for the info Denny. When I cut acrylic I always use a skip tooth blade at a slower speed. I just did not realize that the epoxy would cut the same way as acrylic so I followed the materials list in the article.

OK folks, picture. I finally figured out how to upload a picture. Here is one each of my version of the oak and cherry boxes. Note the axle peg holding the top in place but allowing it to move.
