I don't think woodknomb is going to do anything with it, he wants to sell it.

Seen a couple of pieces of curly basswood at WoodCrafters in Tusla a couple of months back but they were over priced on their basswood. Did pick up a nice piece of tupelo and butternut. Still over priced.

                    Re: Curly Basswood?

No actually I was wondering if there was a difference between the two? BUT LOL if you want I will sell it LOL. To tell you the truth between ebay and reselling to other companys. I dont have much time to do special request or sales. I ususally resell #2 carving stock or some that are shy of a even dimesion or that are not s4s , but closer to s2s or even rough. Saves me time and the others cash as well. I have think it would be kind of hard to carve with the directions of the grain and all. I thought it was kind of neat looking. If i had a 14' and about 14' long it wuld make a good guitar blank.

that is the order I had gotten onetime. We do get the wood that size believe me. 14' wide by 14' long.

Our Judges are some of the best woodworkers I have ever met. On occasion I get asked to explain what I look for in the scrolling categories. I point out all of the nuances. I can't be a judge as I have intarsia and scroll work entries.

There may have been some crud on the tips from manufacturing.
In the ~20 years of scrolling I never cleaned the ends of my blades until recently. Even with the Pegas clamps I was having some blade slippage, I now scuff the ends of my blades with some 220 grit paper End of problem.!...

Don’t over sand them as you will shorten their usable life. Only sand as needed. Another thing to do is clear your blades before installing. Blades are coated with oil to prevent rust. Wipe the ends with alcohol or lightly sand with 320 grit.

The fact that you only had approximately 6 hours on the saw tells me there was a thin oily film on the clamps from the manufacturing process.
If problem continues you may have spread the clamps in the process of tighten blades. A common problem with OEM parts. This issue will disappear by replacing...
