  • Hawk G4

    Hello-
I purchased a 26" G4 in May from RBI at their Scratch and dent sale and have had no problems with it until Sunday. I was told that the saw never left the factory and was placed in the front office for display. It is a year old so I only got a 5 year warrenty. For the cost savings it was a no brainer to buy it. Sunday the dowel pin fell out that connects the pitman arm on the motor and the bottom arm. It goes back in and feels snug but if the saw runs for about5 minutes and check it it's ready to fall out. I have sent two e-mails that have returned saying that they can't be delivered and 2 voice mails and no phone calls returned. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with a HawkG4 or with RBI not retuning calls. I love the saw . I was ready to order a planer from them.

Good luck with the problem. I can't help with it but I have heard a lot of times that RBI's service stinks. Maybe time to re-think about where to buy a planer..
Hope you get it straightened out before toooooooo long.
    Fred.

Y'all had me mighty curious there for a bit. Although I've never ordered parts from them to fix a problem, I have ordered extra things like blade holders, planer blades, etc. and always found them responsive. Wonder what the holdup was? How long was it and did they give any explaination? Just curious.

It took them about 2 days ,but I guess it's not to bad considering it was the weekend also. I.m already starting to have withdrawls from not sitting at it.

Well, If they spend their weekends like I do, eatin bbq and drinkin beer, I'd say two days ain't too bad. Next time that happens you might try what my doctor prescribed - drink a six pack (Lone Star works good) and you'll feel better tomorrow (you might want to add a little Bob Wills music also).

            Cheers

The one I do is under a pavilion on County Property, about 60 spaces. They run 4 “seasons”, spring 6 weeks, summer May - mid September, fall sept to Mid November, and holiday fare Mid November until end of year. Cost is $75 per season, per day as they are open Saturday and Sunday. If you are called...

Ours are run by the state Ag Dept. They have very strict rules as to masks and distancing. The Ag Dept does come and visit to make sure rules are being followed. We stand behind the table and use the tailgate for packaging. I have people place their credit card in the reader on my phone and remove...

Linda - Here is my gimmick for the Incra 1000SE on my SS CNS. I scratched a line 3/4-inch in from the blade end of the fence. I then use a ruler to set that line 1-inch from the side of a carbide tooth on the blade. Then I line the 1-inch mark on the fence ruler to the scratch line.

              Now,...

It was a tough choice on the miter gauges---based on recommendations here. I researched the Kreg and the Incra. They were pretty much tied. I let fate decide it. Went into my nearest 2 hardwood stores. #1 sold Kreg, but they were out of stock and didn't know when an order would come in that...

Nice puzzle. Go for the gusto---scroll it next time!! Several of the quality brands of blades make blades just for acrylics. With a sharp blade and the right speed it's all good.
