  • macaw puzzle

I had a customer see the hanging macaw puzzle in my photo album. she asked if I could make it to sit on a perch in stead of it hanging it.so here is what I came up with.

What a great idea. I have 2 of those puzzles in the shop waiting to be fixed. Sis accidently broke one of them by knocking it down and it fell on the floor and broke. It can be fixed with no problems so I think I might have to do what you did with yours. Thanks for sharing the idea.
    Have a great day, Fay.

Great idea I may even like the perch better. I'll have to add it as an option.

Excellent! Buyers don't have to clean the cage either!

I agree with the others....I like it even better with the perch.

Does anyone recall which issue that pattern was in?

I think that is a very clever variation - and refreshing for an older puzzle. I am sure that came out in the early part of this century. But, don't recall exactly when.

Why does that beak remind me of Jimmy Durante??? I can just about hear a "ha cha cha chaaaa!"

                                Melanie,

I now have a fully written up and photographed article. Downside is that it's pretty long, but the project lends itself to adaptation at varying levels of complexity. so I'll probably be floating it around to see what happens.

I'm pleased that you recognized it...

We had a Thursday night dinner before the open houses where many of the attendees from the forum got together. They were great fun.
I can't remember all the folks I have met but having dinner with (in no particular order) Carole Rothman, Judy Gale Roberts, Janette Square, Scott, Fibber etc!!!!!!...

Some times a bit of color really makes something pop. I just did some test cuts for a future issue and the folks at Fox Chapel added a bit of color it really made them pop. No pictures you will have to wait, but I think this project will be very popular.

Good for you, that is a lot of intricate cutting and I am not surprised by her reaction. We have several quilting groups around here maybe I should make a few of these just for fun. How big are they? Looking at the picture if that is a 1" grid they are about 4"
I have a lot of respect...
