  • Need Doberman dog puzzle pattern

Customer at last show requested one. I have several dog puzzles, thanks to Judy and Dave Peterson, but need a pattern for a Doberman.

You may want to design one yourself, it's easy. The customer may be even happier since it is their dog. Have the customer supply you with a good picture of their dog. I like using a profile shot because you can easily make it into a puzzle that looks good from either side. Trace it, and the features you want (especially facial features) then blow it up into the specific size you need. Design the interlocking pieces and ta da, you have a personal 3D dog puzzle.

That's a really nice one, determined.

And a good description of the process. An LCD projector makes it much easier if you have access to one.

try looking for some ‘clip art’ of dobermans, then just draw in your own puzzle pattern

You do nice work. I figured I might have to do my own design. Thanks

This video was taken where Bruce volunteers at the sawmill. Bruce is the tall one at the back of the saw.

                Cute Pattern.
I have good success treating the wood with spry shellac before cutting. There will not be a problem painting the pieces with craft paint over the shellac. As previously said, just be sure to keep the paint off of the cut edges. If you want to seal the craft paint, a light spray coat...

This is the puzzle, for some reason I usualy make my puzzels with thicker stock, sometimes 3/4 oak or pine or poplar. I have made puzzels in the past I just wanted to get some fresh ideas on blades and finish. I like the idea of applying shellac first that is if the paint sitll covers...

No more waiting for weeks to start therapy. The sooner you use the replacement the better. Bruce was doing mild hand exercises the day after his surgery and bending slightly at the elbow. They expected him in pt for at least 6-9 months. He stopped in February and is doing home therapy, like lifting...
