  • City Skyline Stand Up Puzzle

I was playing around with the idea of using those night scenes you often see, of some city somewhere, and thought this might make a nice small stand up puzzle. Here's the results and the pattern I came up with. I threw in the clouds and the moon just as a bonus. Hope you enjoy playing with it.

Super Idea. Do you mind if I play with your concept?
The black with the white cloud is very cool.
Pacifism is great, as long as everyone is participating.

I don't usually comment on stand-up puzzles, but this design is really interesting. Great job. I can visualize bigger ones with more buildings and effects - and with different colors of woods,

Thanks for the comments. Glad you all liked the idea and the project. Could probably be made very stunning to make it bigger and there are lots of cities out there. I'd like to see some of the off shoots from this project if you don't mind posting pictures.

I too love the idea. I am going to have to copy your idea for my local city of Grand Rapids.

Thanks for the info Denny. When I cut acrylic I always use a skip tooth blade at a slower speed. I just did not realize that the epoxy would cut the same way as acrylic so I followed the materials list in the article.

OK folks, picture. I finally figured out how to upload a picture. Here is one each of my version of the oak and cherry boxes. Note the axle peg holding the top in place but allowing it to move.
