I am trying to understand if I had a Etsy store, would I have to collect sales tax for the buyers state? I thought that was only if you had a business presence in their state, but the Etsy documentation wasn't very clear. It made it sound like you did have to collect sales tax.

Little late to the party here, You are responsible to remit the collected tax from the state in which you are selling from.. Etsy handles all the other states. All the replies above make it sound as if etsy does it all.. which they do except the state in which you are selling from.Kevin
