  • 3 shows, 2 week-ends

    last week was my 2 day show for the rotary. It wasn’t as good as in the past as the powers that be have royally messed up the traffic on the Chesapeake bay bridge. Yesterday was the Kinder Park fall fest. Over 15,000 attending. Lots and lots of kids. I had a lady buy 25 cardholders and another bought one and before I could run her card she added a puzzle and pepper grinder for another 95.00. Bruce would work the sawmill then come help me when they ran the shingle machine. Today was my farmers market and we got there at 9:20 and sold $130.00 before we were even set up! Great week-end. First week-end in November is my 3 day show at the fair grounds. Friday is when I make all expenses, Saturday there are usually 5 buses and Sunday is still busy. The following week-end is my 2 day show at a church, Friday evening and Saturday, then I’m at the farmers Mkt until Sunday before Christmas. PHEW! I got tired just typing this!!! And I just love it!!

    I don't know Betty how you do it. I guess for you it is a business and not a hobby thus you do what you have to do keep the business. I have cut back to one show this year and I am really struggling to get ready.

      I just enjoy doing this. The best part is seeing all the customers and talking with them. Contrary to what Bruce says I am a very sweet and nice person.

        Glad you are doing so well and enjoying it so much Betty. Enjoying it is definitely the key - when it becomes "work" - it goes down hill fast! good luck with the rest of your shows and markets.

          Rolf;
          The saw I have is also a 2005 or 6. It cuts well but seems noisy and when I get the blade tensioned, how I want it, the tension release lever near the blade swings forward and loosens the tension. I now have a rubber band holding it down as I run the saw. I have tried adjusting the...

          Hegner converted their top blower to a vacuum which I really like. What needs to be changed on the Pegas saw? I don’t want to buy something than need to change...

          Rolf,
          Most blowers blow the dust from the left side to keep the cutting line clear. Did you disconnect your blower so that the vacuum system sucks the dust from the left keeping the pattern lines clear?

          I found some small tags at Hobby Lobby. They were in the Jewelry materials section.

          They were about 3/8" x 5/8".

          I added a trap to catch the small pieces that I don't want to lose. Also a simple swivel so I can swing the top part out of the way without messing with the upper nozzle. I did not glue the joints in case I get a clog. ...
