I was thinking of trying to make a few things to sell on a table during hubbys yard sale. My problem is Im still slow at making projects but they are coming out decent. Could you guys tell me some things besides ornaments that I could sell between 4 and 10 bucks. pics or links to things would work too if i need to buy patterns or look up instructions. i just havent a clue about this kind of thing. ive never even been to a craft show. I was thinking quick and easy for 4$ and who knows what for 10$.

this might b my last time posting cuz i see they want a valid email addy and some other places i tried to join like that wouldnt accept my email as valid. i dont have other emails cept hotmail i had for yrs and when i tried to make an email with hughes net it wouldnt work. so id like to say thanks to all you who have helped me. i really like this place and the people. i will miss it if i dont get accepted. good luck to you all. Check in tomorrow about the email thing right now it is something new that even the moderators have not found out about yet.

There are numerous items you could make: key chains, wooden cars or trucks, some simple tray puzzles etc. Just look through the forums and you will get some other ideas. Good Luck.

Judy and Dave Peterson have a book "Animal Puzzles" most are fairly easy to cut out and depending on the wood you use could sell rather inexpensively. Issue 45 has a bunch of mini pocket cars that take about a minute each to cut out.

Thanks. I try to search but I stink at it. I never find what I'm looking for lol. But I shall try. I will post a pic of a free mini clock I'm getting close to finishing and a smiley guy. Got the patterns from Johns blog site. Maybe if I can find out what those are worth I can figure out the rest. the deer and pine tree mini clock was harder to cut out too but then I'm new and slow so I cant go by that

Crosses I have been told sell well at craft shows as do book marks and small dream catchers.

Keep in mind the mind set for craft shows and that of those coming by a yard sale I am told are very different.... I have read it here on this forum how the yard sale is not the best place to judge your talents...

I agree with Hammer. You will be insulted if you place your things out at a yard sale and expect reasonable prices. Most people want something for nothing at yard sales.

Well i understand the part about the yard sale mentality but I thought I might place a sign by the road saying scroll saw gift items for sale and having my own table. What both of us want to do is him and I do yard art and I do some scroll sawing and 3d yard art and whirlagigs. understand he is disabled so I would need to help him but hes a great painter. I just figured it would take me most of the summer to accumulate enough products to just do that and thats if my health holds up too. we just needed some extra cash to pay dr bills. I guess I'm torn about it. I lnow i should wait and then open with just our wood items and forget the yard sale all together but i'm still slow but i do decent work. I was hoping if they were little items i could make them faster and we could have something for e1's price range. its all unemployed here cept for resort people in the summer. I didnt want to miss the whole season. I'm not much for talking to people i don't know so i would never do a craft show. i have panic attacks thinking about it lol. well as usual im thinking out loud on paper again. I think I've decided no yard sale at all. maybe i can find enough stuff I can do quickly but still nice. I need to read up on finishing too. ah well. thanks for listening to me. least ya all helped me make up my mind about the yard sale thing. I really do like all of you and you are always helpful. i will try finding stuff on here i can do. if you have any other ideas let me know or pm me. ill buy the patterns if I need to. I juat wish I wasnt so much of a loner or I could take a look at what others sell and for what price. If i saw 15 items of diff prices i could figure it out myself.

Most folks who have a website where they sell their wares put a link in their signature as i have done. Feel free to go to their sites and poke around and make notes about prices etc. The only thing that is taboo of course (for you lurkers) is taking some one elses picture and posting that to get a pattern for your use. Not that you would ever do that but we need to remind some others out there from time to time.

If you are in a resort area and have traffic near your place on a regular basis you may be very successful placing a sign in the front yard..."Unique hand crafted wood gifts for sale" or something similar. You may be surprised how many tourists stop by to see what you have. I'd have a pretty good inventory built up first and be willing to take custom orders and do shipping so have your shipping rates at the ready. HUH? Shipping rates? Yep more home work for you girlfriend....LOL You will only be held back by your own enthusiasm and willingness to put forth the effort to succeed.

The Hegner like some other saws have a sweet spot or not so sweet spot where they may vibrate. I know they need to have a solid footing.
When we were younger (2005) we used to bring our saws to our club meeting in an old barn with wooden floors. The seasoned scrollers all had Hegners. The rest...

I assume you are talking about changing the stroke length. Looking at the manual it says you can shorten it for cutting thin wood and or metal. I have never known anyone that did that. We have several Hegner owners in our club. I am not one of them.

Has anyone replaced the eccentric on the Hegner scroll saw or made any adjustments to this part.
I bought an used Hegner m22 and it vibrates at about 3/4 speed. Maybe I'm just over thinking this problem, last year I purchased a multi cut 3/25 inch Hegner it is a single speed and it runs like a...
