Roscommon Co Ireland is our sister county/town! There aren't too many Roscommons in the US. When I google the name it seems like I get our town/county and yours.

Kim all the best, don't forget the business cards

Theresa its funny but Roscommon, Co Roscommon is just up the road. I know our town names match all over the place, but its funny that some strike a light and others don't.

Mike - Didn't forget to address you in my last post...we must have been typing at the same time. Hmmm...a good girl scout...do I really have to...I do't think I fit into my outfit anymore - lol! But I hear what you are saying...gonna go thru things Wednesday nite with a friend and see what I have for inventory.

Theresa - girl....do you ever take a break...a 100 boxes of books...hope they were someone else's and not all yours - lol!

I got some info today and it is an actual 10' x 10' and said you can actually set up your tent inside and you can embelish as much as you want (they were talking about the cook-off teams)...but I figured no guts no glory (without the girl scout outfit)!!! If it quits raining long enough I am going to try and set up a mock run in the driveway so I have some idea how to set up, as they only allow two hours, and it almost takes me that long to unpack. You would think after four years of festivals I would have this figured out! I will try to remember my camera...Wish me luck!!!

well, you caught me the day after lugging about 100 boxes of used books to a used book sale, so my thoughts are to take what you can fill your tables with, and about the same to store under them so you can replace when you sell them. If I were "fresh" and not aching from hauling books all weekend, then I might suggest taking all you have! lol

We just had a "Made in Roscommon" event (the small town I live in). First time event and I didn't know what to expect, so I took all my intarsia which filled an 8' table. Then I had another 6' table I put my Christmas tree ornaments on. I actually went expecting to not sell a thing, but was pleasantly surprised to sell 2 intarsia pieces! However, I didn't take any business cards which was a big mistake. People were very patient w/me as I scrawled my email addy and website on a paper bag for them.

Mayo - Thanx for the kind comments and suggestions!!! I need to update my website with some of my newer pieces.. Unfortanetly, I am really low on inventory with my saw down for over two months and my new pieces seem to be taking a lot longer to create. Luckily I have my 'brag/price' book to where potential customes can go thru it.

Theresa - Thanx for the input! I do not know the exact dimensions of the space except that they provide two 8' tables and tablecloths...so I am guessing 8' x 10' or 10' x 10'. The events take place Friday-Sunday, but this partiular part is Saturday 10-4 and geared towards kids (face painting and all that jazz) according to the advertisement. I have not done this one nor attended it...so that's why I am so up in the air about it! This is the 30th year or so for the whole thing, each year they add more and more to it...I believe this is the first time they have added artists' booths.

I would want to know how large a display area. Myself I'd go locked and loaded if I have the room to display. You never know who will walk by your booth. Be a good girl scout and "Be Prepared". Yep keep us informed and don't forget that smile and those business cards and order forms.

I wouldn't gear it specifically towards the restaurants but would take things you think the public attending would like. What type of room and display do you have to work with? And how long is the event?

Wow Kim, took a look at your page and you have some really lovely stuff.

I could see some of your Intasia pieces being of interest especially to say a seafood restaurant.

That's just a quick example. Presumably they know what you do? So I'd take a selection and photos of your one-offs.

All the very best. Let us know how you get on.

What to take for upcoming show???

I was asked to exhibit at a show this weekend...however, it is not you normal art and craft show/festival. The show is put on by the restaurant association where all the local restaurants and bars have booths and then there is a cook-off and all that jazz. It is open to the public, but with an entry fee - inside affair at the convention center.

Any whooos...I am clueless what to take and how much. I currently do not have any bowls, baskets or the likes that would appeal to the restaurant side of business...so do I just take my usual stuff? How much, do I take a small sampling of my stuff or go locked and loaded? I have never attended this event so I am really clueless. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!
