  • The Tug boat is Done!!

Yea, actually the original paintings name is " North Fork Homestead" which means he may have painted it here on Long Island, NY

I am having a tough time photographing it.
I made the frame with Blue Pine. I was going to cut the top and bottom rails to size when it was done, but I like it the way it is. The wall color is not helping.

Awesome job Rolf !!!! The background does an amazing job at finishing your piece of art. I also like how the frame compliments the whole project.

Very nice item. Like the tree as well as the rest.
I think the frame is great as it is.

Exquisite choice on framing....it complimented the intarsia beautifully.

Thanks all. Linda I know you are a bit of a purist as am I most of the time. But all of my other options for different backers detracted rather than complemented what I had envisioned.

Regarding the frame it put a big dent in my Blue Pine inventory. I will need to find more.

As an old time photographer, there is nothing wrong with the picture.
As for the finished piece. That is one for the ages.

Beautiful work of art, Rolf. I would love to be able to create pieces like that someday! I think I need to spend less time online and more time in my shop :-)
