Two more I made this past week. Oak burl (veneer) inlaid on oak box lid and flag in Texas on oak box.

Are you using phenolic backed veneer, paper backed veneer or no backing on the veneer?

No backing on the veneer at all. Because I am a member of Lubbock Woodworkers Club often, when people stop woodworking they donate leftover materials and tools to the club and I received five pieces of this veneer each about three square feet in size. Some of it is not usable and it looks like it was made by a hobbiest and has no backing at all.
It is paper thin so I glue it to a piece of wood and then inlay that assembly.

    My most recent inlays

I have been making a lot of boxes with images inlaid into the hinged lids. These are the most recent: Oak burl (veneer) cross inlaid into oak. And walnut boots into oak.
