I finally got the dragon finished this evening. I used walnut and hickory for the wing. And 100 yr old green poplar, cherry, and aspen for body.
    Pattern is by Bruce Worthington..

Nice work! The color choices are great.

A work of art, Michael. I saw that in the current issue and said 'no way'.

Well, I saw it and thought "darn straight I'm going to do this one!!!" Already collecting my woods, holly so far for the white, green poplar and walnut. Still deciding on the rest. Will be going to my favorite mill next week to see what I can get. And if I get stuck, there's always Hearne's in PA. Now there are some great wood$ there. Just checked Hearne's and there is Tasmanian blackwood. I used this wood a few years back for a box and it was georgous!! That will find it's way into this dragon. Check out their site, their wood is amazing. Hearnehardwoods.com.

Very nice! Lots of pieces/work, but well worth it for the final look.

A dragon in Hoosier Land! I grew up in a small town about 60 miles east of Indy on old state road 40, in Centerville. Lots of great memories of Indiana!
