  • Aries..

here is my interpretation of Aries..
I used 3/4 inch Poplar, Walnut, Cherry and Red Oak..

I enlarged the pattern to make it a little easier to cut..
the only touch that I could think of to make it different was to raise the green part of the face a 1/4 inch...

now go get cutting...we want to see yours...

Very nice Trout! Nice to see Aries being done in intarsia.

"and they said it couldn't be done" LOL.

Sue has just finished the entire series of zodiacs, which the Aries is a little different in, and we will be cutting them soon. I only wished we could have a bunch of you folks here to cut with us.... we could design, design, design..... oh what a dream!

Thanks for the pictures Trout, and being so enthusiastic about it too. Makes me smile.

    Take care
    Toni

thanks for putting on the challenge...

I know my piece isn't that great but at least I finished it...
hopefully we'll get to see some more really good ones...

BTW, my wife is an Aries...and I'm a Pisces so I might have to make that one too..

good job trout, nice tight joints too. That's a good idea you have there with the two different backgrounds.

Can I get in on this Aries Challenge? I've purchased a lot of your patterns and have turned them into intarsia - right now I'm trying to change out "Hecam" - talk about a challenge!!? lol I did it in segmentation first... But I would like to try this Aries - he looks complicated enough to keep me thinking for a day or two - not going to cheat and study Trout's first tho! lol

                all you have to do....

send Toni a PM and I'm sure she'll Email a pattern out to you....

that's why mine is only an interpretation, by seeing some of the other I see where I might of interpreted wrong....

looking forward to seeing you piece when done..

Wow! I looked at the date of the first post! lol I'm a little behind time eh?! lol I will try it Trout and see if she sends it => It was their site that's inspired so many mythical intarsia pieces lately! Very interesting new ideas... Anyway, thanks, will give it a go =>

                      Tis sent Freida.

It was interesting to see the difference between the "Aries" of the Zodiac Challenge and the "Aries" of our Zodiac Masks. The Aries that was issued for the challenge was our first generation design, before we settled on what elements we wanted to have in the designs for each of the zodiacs.

I haven't finished updating the site, but for those who want to see the Aries Zodiac Mask, versus the Aries Zodiac Challenge .... you can see it here.

                      Take care
