Jim that is a very nice design....don't think I have seen that before...is it your design? Would you consider that Intarsia?

It is my final design but I was inspired by one, much larger, that I have, made of metal. I think Intarsia is making images with different types of wood. That is what I did here. I know it is not much like other intarsia I have seen or done but it was a fun project.

Jim -- Very nice!! I've a couple of questions. Did you make a full-size pattern? How easy/hard is it to work with mesquite? I have some, but haven't found the right project for it yet.

I found an image of an Acacia Tree on line and enlarged it to what I wanted in "Paint". I drew up the leaf pattern and stack cut them 3 at a time. They are 3/16" thick Mesquite. Mesquite machines well, a bit like oak.

Great choice of wood and nicely done on the over all project.

I sold that one and I am working on two others. These will be Cedar and yellow pine and Mesquite and yellow pine.
