That is an amazing motor. I really like it on my Nova DVR XP. I may order the newer electronic controller that has a variable speed knob along with the adjustable presets....

    Controlled Speed motor
    by tgiro01
Not sue if anyone is interested in something like this. These are the motors that Technatool uses on their Nova DVR series lathes. They're pricey, but they have fantastic control.

    Low priced Slow Speed Grinder
    by tgiro01
Just got my quarterly Woodcraft flyer and I see that the Rikon 8" Slow Speed Grinder is on sale for $109 down from $159. I'd call your local store to check, though, because the website still has it for $159.

I see a Rikon 1x30 belt sander with 5" disk for 99$ in there, also.

    Question for Denny
    by Dan A
    Denny,

I am in the process of making the turtle dream catcher for a co worker. How did you attach the feathers to the bottom? Is it just string of some kind?

An 18 meter roll, 3” wide, will give 6 wraps for a 19” drum and 7 for the 16”. Much cheaper than getting the precuts, and you can precut your own to have some in reserve.

I like the 60 grit for planing. Coarser than that and you have to use the 60 to get out the deep scratch marks....

Rick they don't use belts. You can buy the 3" wide paper pre cut but I buy it by the roll and cut my own. The only belt that it has is the feed belt and that shuld last for years.
I have attached a link to the manual for that sander and it has some interesting information on recommended grits...

My Super Max 16-32 is on back order from the Norwalk, CT store, may be a few weeks before it comes in...that's OK, I'm not in a hurry. I tried to find a stock number for the sanding belts on the Klingspor web site and because my mind is losing grey matter, all I found was confusion. If anyone uses...
