  • NWA Showcase 2023 Results

Just returned from the annual Northeastern Woodworkers Showcase event in Saratoga Springs. I entered five categories - scrolling, jewelry, toys, accessories 1 (boxes), and the coaster challenge. Photos of all but the box (maybe added after unpack tomorrow). Won 3 1st place ribbons! Wow! I was shocked and humbled!

Well done Barbara! You have some beautiful projects there. Not just your prize winning ones, but the others as well. I like the panda bear and infinity heart necklaces. 👍

              Really nice work, congratulations.

I hope there were more vendors this year than previous years. We used to go every year, but we decided it wasn't worth the 2 1/2 hour drive this year. We do miss seeing the incredible work from all the talented entrants, but the exhibition hall needs some work.

Thanks for sharing your award winning entries.

Our Club used to have a Buss trip from Long Island Every year to the show. That was a lot of fun! I always went with a pocket full of cash to buy wood and tools. Sadly we have not done it for many years now. The vendors can't make any money between travel, booth fees, and hotels.

Several of our members do drive up for the turners part of the event.

About 26 years ago or a little more I made this Ladys Work Basket which I still have and use every day. I use it as a medicine box and I keep it on my kitchen counter. It is still in excellent condition and is made from close to 40 pieces of wood. The plans I got from "Cherry Tree" https:...

Yesterday was amazing to see someone ring the bell after beating cancer. When we left we walked to our cars and had our arms around each others shoulders. I told her this was the best party I have ever been to. I found this message on my phone this morning “I am such a blessed woman. I was so excited....
