  • Cutting Air

Do you remember the first time you switched from crappy blades to super sharp blades? Butter is hard to cut because resistance gives you time and control. Fast forward to this week, and I got roped into one of my wife's projects, which is basically taking some Hobby Lobby letter trays, and cutting foam sheets to fill those letters, then the wife takes that and adds flowers. Cutting styrofoam takes a feather touch. Wife is still working on the decorating piece, but I added a pic of how it currently looks.

I have my first two Grandbabys on their way, so this is for decoration for one of those baby showers.

This is only the first of many things you'll be creating for the grandkiddo(s). Congrats!

          Randy,

I am currently building a house out of ICF which is Styrofoam block that gets filled with concrete, there is a company that makes blades which eliminate the dust when cutting the foam. Google Centerfire foam blades I don't know if they make scroll saw blades but it might give you some ideas.

Wow, I had to look up ICF construction, very interesting. You doing all the work yourself? You doing the above grade stuff with that too?

You should post some progress pictures of that.

Yes we are doing everything ourselves. We poured the walls just before Christmas. They don't recommend ICF below grade in Florida due to subterranean termites so we used concrete block for the stem wall. They delivered the floor joists this week so we can start going up some more.

Wow, if I was closer, I could give you a of hand when needed. I'm noticing those nice trees/water behind. What a great view.

How thick is that foam Randy? That turned out really nice.

The view on the house is nice but that 11 foot 3 ceiling height is killing me.

about an inch and a half.

High ceilings make a house look super elegant. You have the option of doing some cool interior doors that are not possible with 8 foot ceilings. A lot of the large very old houses in my area have those.
