    Some items I just finished

    These are a couple of repeats from prior years and a new one. The Peace nativity is one of my all time favorites designed by Birchbark, the Noel is, I believe a Sue Mey design as is the ornament. I cut the snowflake in the Noel at 2deg so it is proud of the background. The Noel is 9.5 inches wide, the Peace nativities are 7 inches wide. The original ornament was 10 inches tall I scaled it to fit in a 5 1/4 x 3 3/4 box. makes the cutting a bit more challenging.

    They are all beautiful. I particularly like "Peace". I googled Birchbark, but no luck. Where exactly can the pattern be purchased?

        Great job on all three items Rolf.

            Birchbark was a member here many years ago. Real name is Russel. Unfortunately the old pattern library on this forum was lost when the site was migrated several years ago.


            UPDATE: I did find the pattern in the pattern library on Scroll Saw Village.

              Linda the Nativity and the Noel are Maple, the pictures don't show it but there is a bit of curly figure in them. 3/8 thick. I re-saw 3/4 inch boards. Two of the the bases are Cherry the other is red oak.
              RJ all of my ornaments are 1.5mm birch (a little less than 1/16th)

                    Here is something else I made.This tree was designed by Alex fox I made it half size so the tree itself is only 5 inches tall. I turned the base. The green is alcohol dye done before assembly. This is on that would be a lot easier to cut full size. The items behind it are older items. Frilly tree (Medium).jpg

                          Wow!!!! That is beautiful. Super job of sawing. If I worked it out correctly it took you less than a minute for each opening especially when I look at the amount of time it would take to saw the outline of the bear. Garry

                          Thanks guys, I have a lot of HDU left over from my sign business in various thicknesses.
                          HDU doesn't "fuse" or repair itself under heat or friction. Only acrylics and some PVC materials do that. Depending on what part of the world you are in, you would have to google HDU Distributors...
