  • Coin cutting question.

I would like to try my hand at coin cutting. How does one hold their coins while cutting. I have no cut much metal but I know from drilling metal there is a lot of heat created.

    Hi Scott,
I don't cut coins, but my husband has been experimenting for the last year. He has created wooden jigs to hold the coins with. He uses a forstner bit to drill the opening to size. He even created one where the wood holder was cut at an angle. He said that he was able to see the coin details better.
    Good Luck

I have seen that Randy (@hotshot) uses superglue to hold his coins to the carrier and then uses acetone to release them.

Thanks all. I chatted with Randy and got enough info to attempt one. Now to find some time. Anyone have some to spare?

          Time to spare? What's that?
