  • Penguin Chick Puzzle

Normally I would not post something so easy, but when I brought it into ArtCrafters it sold within 2 hours. The design is by Judy Peterson and made from Hard Maple. I enlarged the pattern to 6" high so there would not be any small pieces. The black pieces are stained with Samen stain.

Simple sells. This would be great for a little one to play with.

Thanks, Jim. That is why I enlarged the pattern.

Nicely done Denny. It has the "cuteness factor" about it. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I could see that selling pretty well. Is that pattern in one of Judy's books?

              Sandy oaks,

I did the same thing re enlarging.

What price did it sell for?

I've been taking the puzzle to shows for a couple years now. It doesn't sell at $18. Will probably reduce the price this year to liquidate inventory.
              Regards,

I listed it for $10 and got another order for on Facebook. Maybe $10 is too low.

Nice job Denny. I make a similar puzzle from a book called Animal Puzzles for the Scroll Saw by Judy and Dave Peterson. It is publish by Fox Chapel. I sell several ever year. Mine sell for $15.00.

I also have that book and made several puzzles. I really like the Koala Bears.

I should have posted this in the beginning. The pattern is found in SWWC Spring 2013 issue #50.

Talked to him yesterday after he was coherent. Very fortunately, it was dc current. He said ac current and would have ended differently. And it wasn’t a house. It was a converter box in a marina located on a deck cut into a 20’ high steep bank. They had to climb a ladder to get to it. And they were...

Wow!!!! That is beautiful. Super job of sawing. If I worked it out correctly it took you less than a minute for each opening especially when I look at the amount of time it would take to saw the outline of the bear. Garry

Thanks guys, I have a lot of HDU left over from my sign business in various thicknesses.
HDU doesn't "fuse" or repair itself under heat or friction. Only acrylics and some PVC materials do that. Depending on what part of the world you are in, you would have to google HDU Distributors...
