Combining woodturning and scrolling

I'm just wondering how many of you have experimented with combining woodturning with scrolling. If so what sort of things have you done? I've fretwork rims of bowls with wording and floral designs and turned a bowl into a pooh bear focus. What other ideas do you have?

I turned Toni's Aries mask into a plate, and am currently working on making some scrolled pens, or pentarsia.

You mean an intarsia of pens, not pens that work?
