  • This is for those scroll saw experts out there.

    Hi all,

This is for those scroll saw experts out there. I have received an e-mail from someone who would like to know if it is possible to install an adapter to this scroll saw to use pinless blades:

    I hope somebody can help.

    Pedro.

The problem with that saw Pedro is the blades are 3"
The whole drive mechanism is s flat c shaped piece of aluminum.
I don't think there would be enough space under the housing to mount a blade chuck.

If the size of the hole required is a problem you may be able to remove the pin from the upper blade insert the blade through the wood and replace the pin with a simple safety pin.

That way you only need to drill for the width of the blade and not the length of the pin.
The amount of vibration on that model of saw is quite large. The whole saw is quite light and tends to bounce around. You will find suction cups on the bottom of the saw that try to hold it in place.

Nothing is impossible, but somethings are not practical, sorry for the bad news. If cost is a factor for the person who asked you, get them to check here. http://www3.telus.net/public/scroller/page11.html There are some links for home made saws there.
    Some look quite good.

I see from the exploded diagram that the model you show isnt a "C" arm.

I will sit down and shut up now

Food for thought, When I first started scrolling my thinking was "all I want to do is this and I will never do that as it doesn't interest me". I didn't know I would be working with SSWWC or get sucked into creating Intarsia or doing large intricate fretwork, like Charles Hand designs....

Just read an article from Indianapolis where small businesses are reporting great sales.
Glad you made out well and Bruce got to be salesman for a while.
