Both of these books are great. The latter, "Compound Scroll Saw Creations" has many Compound Clocks. I put the other on in there because of the wood you mentioned. I'm making mother-day presents for our church and doing the humming bird/rocker/clock in Aromatic Cedar which looks great.

Jealous, you and I. Around here the only thing you find is pine and cheap plywood. When I go to the big city then I find a little more but still not a lot and very expensive.
I am going for a seminar at LeeValley in Ottawa next wednesday and will be checking out this place in Clarence Creek. Suppose to be good and have sales. Might find something nice for the Aries Mask there.
Limited in spending so I hope they have cheap small pieces.

You can't go wrong with Diana Thompson's book. I have one of them and it is very nice.

                Do you mean this one?

I made quiet a few and it was well liked at craft shows.
I don't have the pattern on the computer.

I moved this to the General Forum because it didn't really fit in the Bragging Area. That area is more for people to show off their latest work (Nice work on that clock, by the way, Mike!)

The clock 3M posted is called the "Nells Weston" it's a Diane Thompson design and it's featured in issue # 12 of Scroll Saw Workshop Magazine.
Diane's book "Compound Creations for the Scroll Saw" has several different clocks in it.

I did that with Creative Woodworks. But when Bruce's group had their monthly meetings and swaps, somehow or other the ones I didn't buy ended up here! I keep all my holiday ones separate. But I also look at other patterns and think how I can reuse it. But sometimes that is just too much for my brain...

Since I refuse to subscribe till they do something about the patterns in the pull out. They even made the DVD tough to print patterns.

What I do is look at the index of the book on scrollsawer.com and if see something I might want to cut I go to Walmart and check out the book. If I like...

Absolutely everyone here has made valid points. That's part of what I've liked about this group.....different view points and different ideas. And we respect the diversity. You people rock!

I too miss Bob Duncan. I do not think anyone from FC has taken over that role at least on this forum. If they have I am not sure who. Like Betty, I owe a lot to FC and this forum. If it was not for them and this forum I would have probably turned my saw into a boat anchor years ago. Oh how I looked...

Yes I would sand all around the hand and feet to give it some depth.
