  • "Aries" Mask Challenge 2007

Its that time .... time for a new challenge!

Several scrollers took part in Chrestensen Burghout Designs "Mentora" Dragon Challenge 2006. That challenge was our first and we had a good deal of folks asking for the pattern. We posted photos of those who completed the challenge and sent us photos.

Sue (Chrestensen) has just begun designing a new series of zodiac masks, and we are offering one as our new challenge. We have also opened "Aries" Zodiac Mask Challenge up to carvers this time.

If you are at all familar with Sue (Chrestensen's) masks, you might have an idea what to expect. It is a whimiscal, odd creation.... LOL. "Aries" Zodiac mask may be somewhat of a challenge for some, with curves and sharp corners, straight lines and inside cuts... but since it is a mask, finishing "Aries" lets you be as creative as you wish!

So, let the game begin. If you are interested in taking part in the "Aries" Zodiac Mask Challenge, email us and send us your email address and real name so we can include you in any of the future promotions of the completed pieces.

    Take care
    Toni

    Toni,

How long do I have until I have to finish it?

I've got quite a list of "to do" items on my shop board and I don't want to over-extend myself.

    Thanks
    Kelly

Although I never did complete the dragon due to hectic schedules I happen to like Aries and would love to have a try.

Carl, Jeff ... I think it has been sent. Have fun with this odd one. Giggle.

Kelly ... how is the middle of March sound? Atleast I think that's what we decided.

          Take care

            Just sent the email.

I have other things to do, but nothing that HAS to be done until April, so I should be good to go.

Those masks are really beautiful and I would love to enter but I feel that it is for the more advanced scroller.

I appreciate the offer, but I know I wont have time to do it. But, will ask, if any of my 4H kids in my woodworking group seem interested in a project similar to this, if I could forward them to this thread or to you to request a go at it? Thanks, Dale

Got the pattern and I've been studying it.
It is an 8 x 10. Does the mask have to be that size or can I make it a little bigger? It is beautiful. I already have all kinds of ideas in mind.
