I have a delta 695 20" scroll saw. (Not to be confused with the 690 which looks like the Dewalt 788). My wife does not have the full use of her right arm so I am looking for a way to lock up the arm when changing blades without her having to use the existing arm lift lock toward the back of the saw. There are several lifter arms made for the DeWalt 788/Delta 690 but they will not work on the 695. Other than just using a piece of wood to hold up the arm are there any ideas out there?

There are as many versions of lifts as you can imagine ,from bungie cords -to tapered wedges ,saw configuration ,is the biggest variable , .I have tried many(788) finally settled on a swing lift (DIY) ,might not work on yours . You have to study your personal conditions ,and devise some thing that will work ,the way you choose to work w/your suroundings ,space & use. Keep modifing till it really works for you!! There is no simple answer ,as everyone is different and has differing conditions and limitations .

Whatever therapy works for you - is a good therapy. Glad your touch/retail therapy was beneficial for you Betty.

Scott, I am so sorry to ear that you and your wife have both had to fight through Covid. I hope this means that you are both on your way to healing, if a bit slowly....

A project finished Monday, July 4th. The pattern is by Judy & Dave Peterson and found in their book, Making Wooden Dinosaur Toys and Puzzles. I used 3/4" Poplar. It is approximately 5 1/2" x 11". Cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using Pegas #3R MGT blades and Pegas #1 Spiral blades for...

Hugs to you, Betty, for your zany posts that always bring a smile, and to you, Scott, who are usually on the giving end of things. And to everyone else who makes this forum the special place that gives so much, and refuses to give up. 🤗

I did touch therapy since it helps my sister in law so much. I saw it, I touched it and the money flew out of my bank courtesy of Drs. JC Penney and New Balance. Back to the saw tomorrow. I haven’t touched it in a week. And the beat goes on.
