  • SSW Ornaments Revealed

Hi folks, Hope everyone is having a terrific Christmas. Mine was fabulous, and this was the hit of the night.
My family and friends loved the ornaments I received and also the way I decided to display them. I really wanted a special place for my ornaments, I didn't want them getting lost on the Christmas tree.

I hope nobody in the ornament swap objects to me posting this pic, but I wanted everyone on the message board, especially those who didn't participate, to see what they missed.
So thanks very much to all who participated, the ornaments are all very beautiful. I know there's a couple more to come and I will add them to my wreath as they arrive.
Again Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year to all
    Marsha

Marsha -- what a neat idea !!! I know the ornaments I recieved were a hit at my house yesterday ..My Mom told me to bring them out and show them -- then they made me pass each one around so everyone could get a good look-I think you have a wonderful idea and a beautiful wreath also

Nice way to display them Marsha. I put all mine around the tree and I show everyone who comes here. It interesting to see a pattern that someone else used that I WAS going to use until I decided to design one - amazing when one thinks of how many patterns there are around!
        Cheers. Teresa .

              Marsha,

I'm okay with you posting all the ornaments one at a time so we could get a good look at them. I know I wasn't in the big pool of ornament exchange... and would like to see other creations.

                    Great idea Marsha. They

I've got a small pine tree (artificial) that I'm going to set in the living room and hang all of mine on once I get the big tree down.

I have a Moose and Polar Bear footrest that I can put underneath the tree. The hubby will think I'm nuts, actually more nuts, but what the heck.

I'm already planning my pattern for next year.

Those ornaments look great displayed like that, Marsha. I'd love to see some of the others that people have received.

I'll defintely join in next year if people are going to do this again ..

Thanks All, for the great comments. I've decided I'll leave my wreath up until I think of another way to display them all year, I just can't imagine putting them away.

Grizz: I like the idea of posting each ornament separately, perhaps with the name of each maker, that's alot of pics though.

Dusty Buffalo: who cares what hubby thinks, I think it's a great idea.

I hope the other swappers will post pics of their ornaments, I too would like to see the different ones.

Last but not least, the swap was a great success. I enjoyed doing it and you're all VERY WELCOME. I can't wait for next year, I'm sure we'll need to start cutting a lot earlier, cause I anticipate a lot more participants.

Is this a scrolled footrest, Kelly?

No, Ian. They're actually stuffed animals with hard backs. I got the Moose a few years ago and this year they offered the Polar Bear. The hubby collects Moose and I collect Polar Bears so they go together perfectly. And since we have both all over the living room they fit nicely.

First, let me say those are beautiful! Second, I can tell you that on the Facebook laser forums those people have been hunting for sources on cutting and charcuterie boards to laser engrave various personalizations onto. Some are willing to pay for quality and the finished pieces show it. Others...

A custom order for the "Wedding Rings" designer unknown. I used 1/2" solid Cherry and cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using Pegas #1 and #3 MGT blades. After sanding with a Mac Mop sprayed with 2 coats MinWax Lacquer Clear Gloss sanding between coats. Comments welcome.

If you are talking about their microlux, that is the same as the little proxxon saw, and it is the absolute worse scrollsaw I've ever used. They also have a 16" (the saw rebranded a thousand times) which is also a distant second in the running for worst designed saws ever.
