for a guy who is into wine...

he didn't know what they were....
Mrs.Trout said it was pretty funny watching him tring to figure out where he was going to hang them in his office..
after awhile she showed him that they went with the bottle of wine, after that they were the talk of the office...

        Nice work, Trout.

Curious here about the wine bottle holder - what angle is the bottom cut at so that the bottle counterbalances it - and does the size/shape of the wine bottle make a difference?

the bottom of holder is cut at a 55 degree angle..

and I don't think the size or shape makes a differance, it's all in how far you put the neck of the bottle in the hole to make it balance..

Mrs.Trout said it took her a few minutes to get the bottle right for it to stand up right..

I'm using 3/4 inch oak on these..

Thanks, Trout. I'll give it a go with a piece of scrap and make sure the wine bottle has something soft to land on when I test it ....

              hey Puzzledmoose...

this is just one style of the bottle holder...

Bob was looking for idea's for routers and bits..
this project uses a 1/4 round over and a 1/4 rabbet bit..

it will even hold up cheap wine..

Very nice. Would you have the pattern for the Bottle and 4 Glass holder?

I love it when one of my old posts pops up...

hey Moose, I thought I got the pattern from Wildwood Design which is now CherryTree but I couldn't find it in their catalog or on line...
Sorry I can't help you out with the pattern....

Our Judges are some of the best woodworkers I have ever met. On occasion I get asked to explain what I look for in the scrolling categories. I point out all of the nuances. I can't be a judge as I have intarsia and scroll work entries.

There may have been some crud on the tips from manufacturing.
In the ~20 years of scrolling I never cleaned the ends of my blades until recently. Even with the Pegas clamps I was having some blade slippage, I now scuff the ends of my blades with some 220 grit paper End of problem.!...

Don’t over sand them as you will shorten their usable life. Only sand as needed. Another thing to do is clear your blades before installing. Blades are coated with oil to prevent rust. Wipe the ends with alcohol or lightly sand with 320 grit.

The fact that you only had approximately 6 hours on the saw tells me there was a thin oily film on the clamps from the manufacturing process.
If problem continues you may have spread the clamps in the process of tighten blades. A common problem with OEM parts. This issue will disappear by replacing...
