    Ok guys
I used to do alot of SS work about 8-10 yrs ago, i have a Delta SS250 16" throat cut. I can't seem to do cuts anymore with anything at all its so sloppy now. I can't even figure out how to properly tension the blades. I am using the "Flying Dutchman" blades i had years ago still in packages stored up. it seems when i try to get the blade in the botom holder ( does it go in front of the allen wrench nut or behind it) and tighten it up it won't reach to the top holder barely enough to fit in and grab it enough, plus how tigh should i tension the blades if I do get them in there? it been so long I forgot how to even use the SAW what a shame i let it go so long, as now I really need it to help pass the time away and do more projects now..any picture of anyone that has a Delta SS250 of the bottom blade holder part to see where it goes to make it reach the top enought to grab it would be appreciated greatly...

    Jeff,
I will try to explain how to get both clamps closer together. You have to un-wind the tension knob, so that both clamps come closer together. For tension, the blade should not move side ways more than 1/8". Use good speed and low feed rate. Let the blade do the cuttng. If you need some more help, feel free to call me.

Check out parts 137 and 138.

as you sit at the saw and look down the allen head is to the right. next will be the square metal bracket it goes through.

The next to that is a square nut.

The blade goes between the bracket and the nut.

So left to right it would be

      - nut, blade, bracket, allen head.

The blade should come almost all the way to the top of the top bracket. if it doesnt and the blade is new, the wing nut thing on the top is way too tight.

I you phiilps screw in place of the allen head screw if you want so you really dont need the tool. just makes it a bit easier.
