Here in North America, Hegner saws are sold direct by the distributor. either direct from their online site or at woodworking shows.

I understand wanting to buy from a local source for support and such, but your not going to get that option with Hegner unless you live in New Castle, DE. That is just the way it is. They have been around a long time and have provided solid support, abeit remotely.
Hegner design is simple. Last year I had a critical part break on my Multimax 22V and was able to do the repair myself easily.
You options for local support are not a whole lot greater with other saws. You can find a woodcraft store that will sell you something, but that doesn't mean they have anymore technical expertese on the saw than you do.
Hope you find a satisfactory solution

I bought my first Hegner at a local ( Washington State back then) from a dealer at the local State Fair. The second one I bought was a floor model that had been used at other shows...so contact the Company and ask if they will have dealer at a show in your area soon. You will be able to try it out thereHawaiilad

I have never seen any scrollsaw set up in a store for trial. Only at shows. I got to try several different saws at our local wood working show because they were set up by club members. We still do that at our annual show.
Best bet is this forum and see if anyone near you has one and is willing to let you try it.Rolf

Contact Advanced Machinery and see if they can connect you with a Hegner owner in your area.Rolf

There is going to be a big woodworking show in Atlanta in August, I'll find the info again and post it here. The Woodcraft store in Jacksonville is a great store, much better than the Orlando store, I almost prefer the 3 hour drive to that store over my local store. I have a 788 so I can't help you out with a Hegner or Ex test drive. What city are you in ocimpean?Tim
If you need a tool and don't buy it, you will pay for it and not have it

Reply to Hullo, and thanks!by RolfYou did a beautiful job with it. Great paintwork! I can see Carving the prop out of one piece considering the grain direction changes etc. was a challenge.

Reply to Hullo, and thanks!by GuzzistiDBy the way, I did not follow the dimensions exactly as I just used scrap wood that was lying around and scaled to fit - also, for the propeller, I decided to make it from a single block - that turned out to be slightly more difficult than first imagined... but it works!

I stumbled across this site by accident while looking to keep my idle hands busy as I was hunting for easy whirligig patterns. I found some old plans by Mr Paul Meisel from about 10 years ago about a P31 Mustang here https://scrollsawer.com/2009/08/28/ai...-
