Under table light build

i dont know about anyone else but i need a light under the table so i can more easily
'thread' the lower blade. i have an EX-21 that has a problem with the bottom blade
holder which is, it pushes the blade out when i tighten the knob.
i need a light under the table so i can see to push the blade in with a small flat screw
driver while tightening the knob and i came up with a cheap light that lets me do that.

i took a cheapo flashlight from Harbor Freight and mounted it to a thick copper wire
which is bendable and that is mounted to a peace of wood with several magnets in it
to mount on the table. below pictures should speak for themselves.

Interesting photo of your lower blade clamp. Is the upper blade clamp off center also so that the cut is straight?

It appears ramjet is correct. Have you considered getting some blue loctite and centering the lower blade clamp. Open the thumb screw and turn the hex head screw on the left hand side a couple of turns to center the blade. Your suggestion for the light is a kewl idea.

Now can you help me figure out how to get down on my hands and knees to look under my saw like that? LOL I have not had that view since I assembled my stand, if I got down there I could never get back up on my own with my bad hip. getting old is for the birds but it beats the alternative I suppose. Heavy sigh...

That blade clamp looks like the ones on a 788. Check your clamp screw and make sure the spinning tip spins freely. If it's gummed up it will move and or hockey stick the blade.

RamJet: set screw is set in just past flush with left side, as is top clamp and
both have loctite.

Mike: my chair is fairly low so i just lean forward a bit to look under, could
lean more if i didnt have this big spare tire around me. and getting on my
knees will never happen as my cartilage is gone their, plus have severe arthritis
in feet, knees, hips and back.

oily: threaded knob spins fine, tried old one and also put in new knob and it
spins fine. i cant remember if it was Ray or someone on forum that thinks the
clamp has spread open and is causing the problem.
i have to save up and going to buy some replacement parts for my Excalibur
such as the clamps top and bottom and the long arm pieces inside the upper
and lower arms.
i have a friend that lives in Dallas and i should just have him drop off my saw
to Ray after he picks it up the next time he is back here to visit and Ray can
do his magic and ship it back when he is done, then it will be like new plus
run perfect after Ray tunes it up.
