  • Need some suggestions for a logo

    Hi all,

As noted below I am the president of our local scrollsaw club. The clubs logo uses the outline of Long Island as does every other organization on the Island. I think it is lame and am looking for ideas for a new logo appropriate for a scrolling club.

I have to agree with you...that is pretty lame. I know nothing about Long Island so maybe there is some other famous landmark or tree that could be incorporated? I would think just a simple plaque shape (like a shield) with the name inside would be more professional. That is a tough one.

Rolf, that was my thought also, use a scroll saw! That tells the world who and what you are at a glance. There that's my 2 cents worth.

Can you maybe superimpose LI over the name?

Bruce I really like that I will show this to our members Thursday.
I would put "Long Island Scrollsaw Assocoiation" under it.

                Rolf,
The old logo looks like something i saw in biology class once.

Take the idea of the scroll saw and place the letters LISA on the side of it.

Then people will wonder who Lisa is.

                        Rolf,
This was just a quick WordArt image. The native file was too large to post here. If you want me to send it to you so you can play around with changing fonts, fills, etc. send me a PM with your email.

None Linda. You need to find the right heat temp so it shrinks but doesn’t put a hole in the wrap but the tape doesn’t shrink or tear.

What thickness of film seems to work the best for puzzles?
The bags seem easier on the surface.
But the film seems like it is more versatile on size variations.

Regulations are 150 square feet, this will be 144 square feet so we are good. He’s making it that size Since the sheets are 4’ wide. And the Shelves need to be 4” above my head!! It will be very specific.

As a framer, we have a shrinker wrapper at ArtCrafters. Very simple. Film on a roller, sealer attached, just roll off enough film, seal the film, insert object, seal other end and shrink with a heat gum. We also use Uline as a source. Not sure where our unit can from as it was with the shop when...

I would make the shed 1" less than the size permits are required for. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH SPACE....
