  • Dust conection

I finally achieved another goal today after many frustrating delays. I got my new Ex-21 along with a nice solid bench to put it on along with my DW788 and i bought a new dust extractor as you will see from the pictures. Ignore the mess in the shop, it is nowhere near finished yet. I still have to put up shelves, move more equipment in from the old shop but by this time tomorrow I should have most things in place.

I was setting up the Ex-21 and notice what looks like to be the dust extraction port underneath, there is nothing in the manuel relating to this and on close inspection it does not appear to do anything as i cannot see anywhere on it for the dust to get through, it looks like a sealed unit and on the saw table there are four fixings for this, it looks really odd. Can anyone with an Ex-21 explain what i am supposed to do. Many thanks everyone.

Great looking set-up. I like the white Ex-21.
Someday I will replace my Craftsman.

    It's all fun

See all those holes in the table around the blade entry hole? Dust collection. Have never seen your model but a dust collector will likely suck up any cuttings from below the table.

It is only the British and European models that have that dust collection setup. a big shame it is not added to all models
