  • A chip in BB

What do you more experienced sawyers do when a tiny chip pops off the top layer of BB plywood? This has happened to me a couple times after cutting and a little sanding I see where a small chip, maybe 1/8" diameter, disappears next to a cut. I'm referring to just the top layer of the plys.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Daryl, how the heck do you file or sand something as small as 1/8" in diameter?

        very carefully, lol

lost some skin a few times, and there's nothing that compares to a sandpaper burn.

Mike, what type of blade are you using when you get a chip? Could also be the plywood, I usually use the Finnish birch plywood. Have never had a problem with chipping on the top, can't say the same for the bottom though. When sanding a cut make sure you sand from the top of the plywood down. I use tiny files and always make sure to file downwards.

I bought a $20 or so set of multi-colored magic markers at a craft store and use them to match colors of occasional chips that come off my puzzles. Often it's quite difficult to tell unless you look very closely.

Jim, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, on the left you’ll find some style options that change the font size and color. I’ve been using Defalt vB5 Style, and it seems to be about the best for my iPad, but I’m still experimenting with my iMac.

Hi - This is my first visit to the forum in about 3 weeks and I was surprised to see the font size so large after checking on two different browsers on my PC, namely Chrome and Edge. Both my browsers are set to 100% view and other sites look fine on my 27" monitor. Also the forum looks far too...
