  • Wedding Album

I finally finished my boss's wedding gift, it is a Dirk Boleman design.

It measures 13x13 1/4, and I used 1/4 Cherry plywood which was good on both sides....and for the fret work I used 1/8 BB plywood and just used a tung oil for a finish on it. Oh, I used a poly spray for the finish coat on the cherry.

Just FYI, the photo on the album cover is of me and my bride, Ken and Linda are the soon to be wedded couple.

That is doggoned nice, Bill. Great wedding gift. You either like your boss a lot or it's getting close to your annual review. Where did you get this idea from?

That's one nice album you made there Bill. I've been considering making something similar to that, one for each of my boys. I really like how you have the picture mounted in there.

I seem to make a lot of picture frames for my beloved, and I am always looking for better ways to put the pictures in the frames so that they can easily be changed out over the years. Those clips you have there are exactly what I've been looking for and can't find them anywhere. Where do you find them?

        Bill,

        You brown noser you...

He he, are you going to leave your wedding picture in there?
Is it a hint to let your boss know you have a family to feed too?

All kidding aside, it's a nice job you have done on a great gift idea. I'm sure it will be very much appreciated.

        Regards,

Jim, I bought the turn buttons thru Sloans, http://http://www.sloanswoodshop.com/misc_.htm this should take you to the page.

Marcel, maybe just a little brown nose but seriously, he has bought several of my portraits and brought me some customers also, so I'm just showing a little gratitude.

My wife sure likes it too, so yup, you guessed it.....I have another one to do.

Nice gift, well done, but being slightly compulsive I would have to line up the screw slots or cover them with some nice wooden buttons.

My boss would never understand the effort and skill that goes into something like that.

Sheesh, the only gifts I've ever given to my bosses were 2 week notices, LOL. Nice job on that Bill.

Without the complete schematic it is hard to know what is correct.
That said, it is a multispeed blower that obviously has a controller board. That board varies the power to the motor. By doing what you did you bypassed that. You put power across the low and high windings. If any thing connecting...

If he connected to red and black and the motor spun wouldn't that indicate the motor is grounded? Without connecting the white the circuit isn't complete and the motor should not spin.

The reason for the smoke is incorrect wiring, posible melted insulation between motor windings and motor frame.

You mentioned connecting power to the red & and black wire. Did you do anything with White wire? Per the lable on the motor the black wire is high the Red is low. White common...
