Do any of you scrollers out there scroll key fobs? I had never heard of such a thing but a gentlemen I was talking to tonite said that he sees a guy at craft shows that has a waiting line for people to buy key fobs. He brings a pedal type scroll saw along and makes them while people wait. I think he scrolls them out of maple. Sounds like a lucrative idea. You wouldn't have to make them on the spot but you could show examples and take orders.

I have made the Jonah and the whale as key fobs,
I have several Christian patterns that I have done too they go over well.
You can also do peoples names. I remember seeing someone on here did square letter names, there were pictures and the article was in an older issue of the magazine but I don't remember which. If I find the pictures I will send a link.CAЯL HIRD-RUTTEЯ"proud member of the best scroll sawing forum on the net."Ryobi SC180VS scroll saw EX21

a FOB is --- for all you young whippersnappers -
Back in my day ---- before God made dirt a watch fob was a small madallion worn on the chain of a mans pocket watch.. They were about the size of a button. I knew a lot of judges that wore their key club emblem as a fob. The pocket watch chain was attatched to a straight metal rod or leather strap that held on to a button hole or a belt loop and the watch was one the other end held into a pocket - The fob was just hung somewhere in the chain aand usually was what the gentalman used to grab ahold of to pull out the watch, Now as to whither he could ever really tell time -- that is another atory ---- And so now Pete--- you know what a fob is.

I've sold to a slob, but never scrolled no fob."Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They're easier to ignore before you see their faces. It's easier to pretend they're not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes."

Doesn't he live somewhere off Australia John?

Sponge Bob does not live near Australia. I know this because when I watch him on TV, he is standing right side up and we all know those guys way down there in Oz are standing there upside down just hanging off the earth.

by Sandy OaksA modified Sue Mey pattern to fit 1" x 4" x 10" Hard Maple. Cut on the Pegas scroll saw using a Pegas #5 MGT blade. One side says "TEACH". Flip it over and the other side says "LEARN". After sanding, dipped in diluted Shellac, sanded again and another dipping. Comments...You do not have permission to view this gallery.
