Charlie your kids must love you to death. that is so cool. gosh how in the heck do you find the time to cut this stuff out and paint it. cook dinner and go to work at night. don't you ever sleep. your a keeper. love ya little brother.
will usually get about 4-5hrs a night sleep and only cooks dinner about 3 times a week ,so get a few good hours in scrolling ( usually ) every day
so just work on it when I can for the most part

Looks good, the wife so happened to be walking by when I was looking at the picture and said that I should make something like that for our new grandbaby's room...8 more weeks....

the black thing above the cockpit is another plane in the background just alot smaller , was trying for a 3 dimentional look but not sure if it worked or not lol

using different thickness of wood like a 1/2 inch for the body and a 1/4 inch for the wings and raising the cockpit an 1/8th and putting 1/4 inch spacer blocks on the back of the clouds to give it that 3D look...
raising and lowering the different pieces will give it a great look..
It appears Charlie has ventured away from cutting ducks, and now has entered the world of cutting out geese. What we have here is a Spruce Goose I do believe. It looks nice! Dale

Nice goose Charlie, Trout's advice sounds good. Maybe he'll show us his when he does one for the grandkids and explain the different heights.

The Hegner like some other saws have a sweet spot or not so sweet spot where they may vibrate. I know they need to have a solid footing.
When we were younger (2005) we used to bring our saws to our club meeting in an old barn with wooden floors. The seasoned scrollers all had Hegners. The rest...
