I understand the amount of work and that is required and the hoops you must jump through to establish a Scholarship.

I am on a committee which reviews applications for 3 bursaries in our local union. All the "t"s need to be crossed and the "i"s need to be dotted.

Hats off to the folks at SAW.

    Hi CanadianScroller,

Thanks Bob for posting the information.

We are hoping to grow this program. This is our first attempt at doing something like this. If those of you from other countries can send us any information about how that kind of thing is handled in your country, please do so.

As with anything else, you start off with what you know best, and for us that is how this works in the US.

Thanks Bob, looks like a good reason to live in the States <grin>

Those international laws sure make life complicated

I wonder if I should start "Citizenship of the World" organization. Get free access to every country and all benefits therein.

Our defining feature could be group hugs and our National anthem "Kumbaya"

All kidding aside. Patrick Spielman has done more for the world of scrolling than anyone I could think of.
It is a fitting tribute to a great man.

    SAW Patrick Spielman Memorial Scholarship

    Hey everyone,
We just got a press release from the Scrollsaw Association of the World about a new scholarship they've started. The deadline to apply is Feb. 28. We won't be able to publicize the fact that you can apply in the magazine, but we will be able to post something about the winner in News & Notes.

The application and eligibility requirements are available at www.SAW-online.com

So many are selling them here it’s not worth us making them. However, we do very well with our dough boards. Nobody else makes them. We have an order for a dough board and matching pepper grinder. The walnut board I could make into a beautiful basket or two and sell for lots more than they are getting...

I use #7 on my younger kid puzzles. Easier for them to put together.

I did forget to mention he cut a finger on his left hand with the bandsaw. Just took skin off. Lucky again. Told him he was calling 911 next time.

Jim, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, on the left you’ll find some style options that change the font size and color. I’ve been using Defalt vB5 Style, and it seems to be about the best for my iPad, but I’m still experimenting with my iMac.
