Rosemaling Clock Sneak Preview

I ordered the pattern for the rosemaling kitchen clock a few weeks ago and they sent me the wall clock pattern instead by mistake because there is only one number differene in the two pattern numbers as shown here.

So I phoned and pointed out the mistake and they told me to keep that pattern and they would get the right one in the mail so it is on it's way no charge. I thought that was very good of them . So I went out in my shop and made these two rosemaling wall clocks but the movements are on back order for a week or so for the kitchen clock so they are going to send the movements for both kitchen and wall clocks at the same time (two of each) Kitchen clock movement is 5.5" and the wall clock is 3.5".
This clock is 15.5" x 7" and is very easy to make. Took less than three hours to saw and assemble both of them from start to finish .
NOTE: the website shows them as rosemailing and the pattern shows them as rosemaling. Take you choice .
I will post a picture of them finished with the movements installed when they arrive.

It's rosemaling

The correct spelling is rosemaling. If you're not familiar it refers to a beautiful style of decorative painting which originated in Norway. It's applied to dishes, wood plaques, furniture, woodwork, etc. My family is Norwegian, and several members have done rosemaling so I have been surrounded by it for years.

The clocks capture the style very nicely, although I would want to add more detail and lots more color.

I am not into painting at all but I understand what you mean about it requiring more color to be a true rosemaling. Perhaps the pattern maker was referring mostly to the style and used that to incorporate it into a fret work clock ?
