  • Robin Wirtz Patterns

Does anyone know where I can find patterns by Robin Wirtz? Her website, which looks like it hasn't been updated for a while, indicates that she is not selling patterns right now. It would be a pity if those beautiful patterns were no longer available.

I have been thinking the same thing for some time. I would love to see her join the forum. Maybe if we all bug Bob Duncan we can pressure him J/K Bob, but it would be nice

      Robin Wirtz patterns now available

I was delighted to discover that you can now order Robin Wirtz's patterns from her website, woodwirtz.com. You have to fill out and print an order form and then send it in with a check or mail order. She's not set up for credit cards. Considering their compexity the pattern prices are very reasonable.

I mentioned in a previous version of this posting that I thought shipping costs were high. I just received an e-mail indicating that about 2/3 of the shipping amount I sent in was being refunded because of an error in the way shipping costs were displayed, so there is no problem with shipping costs. The display error has been fixed.

This video was taken where Bruce volunteers at the sawmill. Bruce is the tall one at the back of the saw.

        Cute Pattern.
I have good success treating the wood with spry shellac before cutting. There will not be a problem painting the pieces with craft paint over the shellac. As previously said, just be sure to keep the paint off of the cut edges. If you want to seal the craft paint, a light spray coat...

This is the puzzle, for some reason I usualy make my puzzels with thicker stock, sometimes 3/4 oak or pine or poplar. I have made puzzels in the past I just wanted to get some fresh ideas on blades and finish. I like the idea of applying shellac first that is if the paint sitll covers...

No more waiting for weeks to start therapy. The sooner you use the replacement the better. Bruce was doing mild hand exercises the day after his surgery and bending slightly at the elbow. They expected him in pt for at least 6-9 months. He stopped in February and is doing home therapy, like lifting...
