OT-I'm back

Hi Everyone;
I have not been able to access this site since before April. For some reason my browser blocked me and search engines wouldn't let me on either. I hope no one else has this problem. The withdrawal symptoms are terrible.

I have finished a practice piece of the wolf head portrait that is in the SSW #19. I used 1/2 plywood, scraps from a neighbor building a new home. It came out pretty good. There was some breakage with the plys, but since it was a practice piece I didn't worry about it. I have ordered a piece of 3/8 walnut to make a new one for my grandsons graduation on the 17th of June. The schools logo is a grey wolf and school colors are a royal blue and silver. The walnut was the closest I could think of to a grey wolf. I don't know what to finish it with, since I don't want it a dark brown. Any suggestions?

Welcome back anyway. I wish I did have a suggestion for you.

The only thing I can think of is to go with a wood dye or something. But wood dyes are very messy. And you need to measure things like 1.00 oz. so you need a digital kitchen scale.

Thanks for the welcome back. I have the kitchen scale, but I have never played with dyes on wood before and wouldn't want to mess the real one up. I could play with that on the practice one at a later time. Thanks.
