  • "Tako" the dog, done in relief style

Tako's picture was ideal to make the design for a cute wood relief. Finished overall size was 13-1/2" wide x 12-3/4" high. Done from maple, with some pieces left natural, some stained, and some washed with paint (bow tie and color for sure). Shimming to elevate various pieces was time consuming, but really set it off when viewed in person. The hardest part....you guessed it....scoring the cuts in the bow tie and then getting the colors in it right. But this client was specific that the collar and bow tie were critical elements. The guy gave it as a late Christmas gift to a lady friend. Emailed me that day and said she cried tears of joy for over 5 minutes that it was so close to her baby. That is the reward this stuff brings, far greater then any monetary thing.

What a beautiful dog. You really captured it, I can see why it brought her to tears.
You are absolutely right about peoples reactions, they are priceless.

The right person got the picture and captured it beautifully.
You can really give yourself a big pat on the back for this one!
