Hi everyone. My name is Danny and my son in law recently gave me his grandfathers Hegner scroll saw because he doesn't have the time or interest to use it at this time. I thanked him and said I would use it until I am like his grandfather and can't anymore. I have always wanted to make a mantle clock so I am going to try one after I practise a while. Anyway I have enjoyed reading some of your notes and I am sure there are many people out here that can give me advise. Take care EH!

Hi Danny
Nice to have you with us. A case of, "the king is dead, long live the king", eh? I'm sure you'll have great fun with your Hegner and soon lose that 'rookie' tag.
GillThere is no opinion, however absurd, which men will not readily embrace as soon as they can be brought to the conviction that it is readily adopted.

He gave you a Hegner? Lucky so-and-so!
Welcome to the club! What kind of mantle clock are you contemplating? What are you going to cut to practice for the clock? Beware that once you start cutting, you'll find more and more things you want to do!

Reply to Looking for compound cut ornamentsby NC ScrollerSo sorry for your loss. 🙏🙏. Fox Chapel Publishing has a number of books written by Diana Thompson. In my opinion she was the queen of compound designer. Ironically she passed away a couple years ago.
