  • My 2nd portrait

This is my second attempt. It is a different style than the first and was more difficult to make the pattern. I tried a couple of different versions before I settled on this one. It works, but there are things I would like to do different but time would not allow it because I wanted to give it as a gift to my boss today.

This is of my employer who I have been working for for about 17 years. He was a professional boxer during and just after WWII. He is now 85 years old and still works about 12 hours a day and still exercises 1 to 2 hours a day to keep his body and mind sharp.

I'm sure that will be much appreciated, Bill. Nice work. What did you use for the backing board behind the picture?

You've selected just the detail that's needed to tell the story - and that's not easy! Very well done .

Ian, I chose a red velvet fabric for the backing.

Thank you all for your complements. My boss has not opened it yet, he is going to take it home before it is opened so I won't know untill later on what his reaction is going to be.

Good idea and nice job. It's too bad you won't see his reaction. I can't imagine working even 12 hours a week at the age of 85, if I make it that long.

Bill I think you did a "knockout" job on that, I really hope my second design will come out at that level. Good job buddy and keep them coming.

I am guessing that your clamps have probably spread due to usage. I am not aware of any aftermarket clamps that fit your saw. Did you look at ereplacementparts.com to see if they sell clamps for your model? Sorry I could not be of more help.

We need to know what saw you are using, as they have different clamps.
