Nothing wrong with these Kelly. Once they are cleaned up, they'll look great. Now wasn't it worth all the minor headaches? Now I want to see one of Minnesota.

There is NO WAY I will be doing the rest of the 46 states. I honestly had thought about ordering the other patterns before I started on these. Now I'm glad I didn't order them. You all would end up corresponding with me in the nut house.

My family better stay put where they are. No new states.

Mike, it would just be wrong for a Wisconsin girl to scroll Minnesota.

That's very true, Carl. When you live in a place you sometimes wonder why tourists want to visit it ..lol I've only been in 2 of those states Arizona and Georgia - the latter only briefly for a couple of days as a result of an airline screw-up .. they were very different to anything in the UK or Canada and very different to each other - I could understand the Arizona accent ...

I guess Nova Scotia's out of the question too then, Kelly?

              Ian,

Are you saying we talk with an accent here in the south? I don't think so, you maybe hear with an accent. I have to admit I've been here more than 5 years and the hubby is a true southerner. Sometimes, I have trouble understanding what he's saying and I have to ask him to spell it.

And, no I definitely won't be doing Nova Scotia. Sorry.

Kelly, your attempts at fretwork will be well recieved. Think of it as cutting out simpler shapes, but do your drilling or turning on the little pieces. No matter what type of scrollsawing you do, its all still making one cut at a time. I think you done good!!!
Mike wants a Minnesota one??????????????????? all i can say is LOL ! Dale

Those look really good, Kelly! A little sandpaper and you're good to go.

Fretwork is one of my favorite forms of scrolling. To look at, that is. With a bottom-feeding saw. it's a chore and I empathize.

I'm 74, retired from the commercial dimensional advertising world. (carved and routed signs).
I've always used the Roto-Zip, band saw, or other tools to make my projects. (wishing many times I had a good scroll saw). Well, I finally found an old DW-788 that the original owner said "it finally...

I use acrylic paint mixed with water to stain when I want vibrant colors. There was an article in one of the issues awhile back where a product called "Unicorn Spit" was suggested for the colors---and many people swear by it....
