      thanks so much guys. I really loved doing this project. one thing though. I posted the round picture. the first one was pedros. finished project. I only had it in my files to look at for directions on how it was put together. ouch. sorry pedro. so I will show my piece. dang. I thought something looked funny. but then last night I realized it was not my mattal. so hear is mine. the wood is 150 years old. and was so hard to cut. but got it done. thanks for all your kind complements.

        thanks Rolf. my work surface is just my work bench covered with some air port floor tiles. I got them from a friend. I guess you can still get them. i like protecting my tables with them . they can be cut to size. 1/4" thick. 3x3' wide.
