  • Just a couple projects

Here are a couple projects I've finished recently. The portrait is one of Mike Fehring's and the shelf is from an issue of SSWC. The portrait is probably one of the last ones I'll be using spiral blades on. I'm losing the feeling in my fingers so it's getting really hard to control the wood and spiral blades are unforgiving. The shelf was done in response to a Youtube video to prove you can do descent work with an old saw (Craftsman Direct Drive with Bosch pinned end blades from local hardware store). The last one is another pattern from the magazine but I ran out of wood and had to finish it with a plain bottom.

It's only a mistake if someone saw you do it.

It's not about what saw you drive. It's about the skill you drive it with.

Beautiful work!!! Really impressing shelf -- especially with an old say and pin-end blades. My hat is off to you. Nice shaping on that frog!!

Sorry about the feeling in your fingers. Hope that whatever is causing that can be stopped. Thanks for sharing those pics!

All three projects are very well done and beautiful. Sorry to hear about your fingers limiting your range of work.

Thanks everybody. I think I may redo the crown of thorns with maybe a #5 reverse blade or something like that and use a good plywood instead of the luan ply this one is done with.
